Video Card Configuration

Q: I am trying to get the stereo running on my QUADRO graphics card.

A: Make sure you have the latest driver
Download & install driver 67.22 from nVIDIA.
(There may be later drivers available. We have tested and certified 67.22)

Start Here:

  • Graphics Driver(Left box)
  • Quadro (Middle box)
  • Then select your OS (Right Box)
  • Click "Go", select from the available versions and install

After installation you need to enable OpenGL stereo support:

  • Right-click on the desktop, left-click on "Properties" and follow the illustration below.

Look in the video display properties and select these switches

  1. Settings
  2. Advanced
  3. Quadro XGL tabs
  4. Open GL setting,
  5. Enable quad buffered stereo API
  6. Additional OpenGL Properties
    Open GL stereo tab
    Check - Stereo in OpenGL
  7. set option to either "use on board din connector" (this is for the 3 pin mini DIN - VESA connector) or "blue-line-code for StereoGraphics" (this is for the stereo enabler)
  8. Click Apply

Monitor must be a CRT and have a vertical refresh rate ~ 100 Hz non-interlaced or better.

Also run the diagnostics programs called morph and diagnose.

When you run morph there will be a pop-up that reports the stereo status "GL==True" (everything is working, you will see stereo; or there is a hardware issue) or "GL== false" (there is a driver or configuration issue).

Wildcat VP880/990 Pro - connecting the stereo CRT to the graphics cards

The "first" monitor port on the graphic card MUST be used if stereo is to function. The first port is DVI-I so you need to have a DVI-I to VGA adapter to connect to the CRT stereo monitor.

There is no mention in the manual about this. Here is the 3dlabs link addressing this issue.

If you have a Wildcat VP880/990 Pro and are having problems getting the stereo sync signal, make sure you have stereo enabled via the OpenGL tab in the 3Dlabs control panel and that you have your monitor attached to the top connector on the VP card. This connector will be the one furthest from the AGP slot on your systems motherboard.
