REALD 3D BRINGS U2 3D HOME

Groundbreaking 3D Concert Film's European Premiere in RealD 3D Rocks Band's Hometown of Dublin

Los Angeles (February 21, 2008) - RealD 3D, the global leader in 3D, announced today that the European premiere of 3ality Digital Entertainment's U2 3D, distributed by National Geographic Cinema Ventures, was shown in RealD 3D’s next-generation digital 3D cinema experience on February 20 at Parnell Street's Cineworld in the heart of Dublin, as part of the Dublin International Film Festival. The band sported customized RealD 3D glasses - designed by Bono- for the occasion. Attending fans were given collectible RealD glasses as well.

U2 3D, directed by Catherine Owens, is the first live-action movie ever shot and produced in digital 3D. The movie was filmed during the Central and South American leg of U2’s Vertigo Tour. With breathtaking 3D visuals, U2 3D captures the intimacy between band and audience in a unique, visceral way and establishes a new standard in 3D filmmaking. The film opened in selected domestic RealD 3D theaters on February 15 and opens widely on February 22. The majority of moviegoers who see U2 3D will see it in RealD 3D, the largest global 3D cinema platform.

U2 3D is produced by 3ality Digital’s John Modell and Jon and Peter Shapiro along with 3D and digital image producer Steve Schklair. The film is executive produced by 3ality’s Sandy Climan, Michael Peyser, and David Modell, along with Catherine Owens.

RealD estimates 4,000 RealD 3D screens globally by 2009.
